I love Orange Chicken July 31st, 2014

It's another day of getting healthy in Fort Worth, Texas. Today is the day that I take off from my weight loss program, doing cardio and weight training. I usually let myself eat junk food on this day. I'm not talking about candy and potato chips. More like food from restaurants and stuff that would normally not order.

Breakfast
1 Egg Fu Yung
4 Tbsp of brown gravy

Snack
Egg Roll
Small side salad with no dressing

Lunch
Serving of Teriyaki Chicken
Serving of streamed white rice
Serving of orange chicken

Snack
Egg Roll
Small side salad with no dressing

Dinner
Serving of sesame chicken
Serving of steamed white rice
Serving of orange chicken

Weight loss tip: Eat the same thing? How boring!

I have a friend who is also on the path of a healthy lifestyle. He's at his lowest weight and I celebrate his success. Of course I want the same success during my weight loss journey. I wanted to know his weight loss tips.

Weight Loss Tip #1
Eat the same thing for breakfast just keep it to 1/4 of your daily calories.

Weight Loss Tip #2
Eat the same thing for lunch just keep it to 1/4 of your daily calories.

I have to sit here and say "How boring!" Don't get me wrong. I think that they are great weight loss tips. It would be an easy way to keep on track. I just don't think I could see myself eating the same thing every day.

I also disagree that dinner should be where most of the calories are eaten. At night our bodies are slowing down. Why put a lot of calories in our body when we are only going to be using 400 calories to repair itself when we sleep.

Secondly, there are too many healthy foods and seasonings out there to try. I personally think that boredom might be the cause of someone slipping back into their own eating habits. How is a person going to enjoy meals if they do not try new flavors and textures.

So my weight loss tips are:

Eat 1/4 of your daily calories at breakfast

Don't forget healthy snacks

Weight loss Tip #3
Eat 1/4 of your daily calories at lunch

Weight loss Tip #4
Eat 1/4 of your daily calories at dinner

Weight loss tip #5 
Be adventurous with spices

Weight loss tip #6
Try new foods and find new ways to make your favorites!
